So on writing the blog post for Milina and Andrew’s wedding, I realized I had never hit the post button for their engagement session in August of 2022! Well, better late than never so here it is!
I was so excited to finally meet Milina and Andrew on the beautiful coastline of Newport, Rhode Island! From our phone chats I could tell they were the type of people I was going to have a blast with and I sure was not wrong. Summers in Newport are my favorite, from the ocean to the delicious dining and places for perfect cocktails, to sunsets along the sea, there really isn’t anywhere else I’d want to spend my time when the weather is nice. We started at the 40 Steps, one of the best spots for ocean views, and the staircase is just perfect to cozy up for pictures! One of my favorite spots behind Salve Regina was blocked off because there was an unfortunate collapse in the path which was under construction for repair, so we headed off the other direction for more great views and to pop the first bottle of champagne. We had seen a cute TickTock for a Save the Date that we wanted to put our take on, so after we did that and I climbed in some bushes to get some great depth of field with flowers, we walked along the path for a bit before changing outfits and locations. Next up we went over to Sachuest Beach for some more casual shots, and another bottle of champagne. Well, this was where the fun began! I was lined up to photograph the bottle being popped after a good shake, and boy did the cork fly! It flew so far it actually went right for an un-expecting dog walker, who had the reflexes of Tom Brady and CAUGHT it! After a slight moment of panic and profuse apologies, we were all laughing so hard and no harm, no foul!
What a great evening for a seaside engagement session in Newport! I can’t wait for the fun we will have for their August wedding! Cheers!
